I always feel sorry for artists when they have to speak in this manner. He is obviously uncomfortable with the interview (the microphone issue certainly didn't help!).

There is nothing worse than an artist having to explain their art to a public. They shouldn't have to, irrespective of the insight it gives the general public.

Great, very good indeed to see and hear a truthfully painter talking in such raw way. His issue is about paint as image which slanted standart ways of seen a painted painting. He is exactly what you see and hear.He didn't hire his self at any moment. Ryman is 100% Ryman.A hero!
