What's amazing is how quickly things changed regarding this film. When it first came out, everyone I know was saying, "Oh, how wonderful. I only hear great things about 'Waiting For Superman".
Now, less than 2 years later and the negative response to this film is overwhelming. The reviews I've read have pointed out factual errors, manipulation of data, intentional omissions, and much more.
Now, when I mention "Waiting For Superman", people usually say, "Oh, that propaganda film?

Just saw this dvd. Got if from Netflix. Definitely worth watching. If you want to know more about our education system or if you want to make a difference, then get this dvd and go to waitingforsupermanDOTcom.

@eric251982 yeah, it was called No Child Left Behind. Big federal government intrusion into the classroom. He and Ted Kennedy were both behind it. When it comes to education, I dont think anyone from either side of the political aisle have a clue. They create things that look good on paper and to voters but fail to work in the reality of the classroom.

I think that teacher unions barely keep the bar high enough to keep educated people who have to go to graduate school wanting to teach. The low pay and benefits are the bare minimum to keep educated professionals teaching your children. Take unions away? You'll take away the low salary and make it lower. You take away the basic benefits and take away GOOD teachers. They'll go into another profession.

This film is a propaganda film for privatizing schools and getting rid of the public school system. The question was proposed today on Fox News: Should we privatize schools and turn it over to private business? This is a propaganda film. If we're 23'rd in this or that, NONE of those other countries have let their schools be run by private businessmen.
