HP Compaq nx6110 - Dismantle

This is my third pointless video like my keyboard and mouse dismantle. In this video i am going to dismantle one of my old laptops which is a HP Compaq nx6110 and then eventually i will put it in a tower case and use it as a desktop.

@leptium I have been trying to find this as well. I would just take it into your local computer repair shop and ask them. They might be able to order it in for you

i bought this brand of l.top 3yrs ago & i want to upgrade RAM that was 256mb only (too slow) is it possible to have much higher can u advice me what to buy & to replace also the HD from 60GB to much higher Gig? i apreciate so much the best answer thanks!

@aersnt25 I had the ram upgraded about 4 years ago now. I had it done at a computer store and they did it all for me. cost about £40 I think and the ram was upgraded from 256mb to either 500mb or a gig (i can't remmeber). The computer is on the verge of being dead so I can't tell you exactly. I would just suggest going into a computer store and asking them for advice. You don't have to buy the ram and HD from them as it might be expensive but you can find out what you should buy online.

Hey... Do you remember which cable for the wireless adapter is from main antenna and which is auxiliary...? I got the same laptop but without the wifi card so I bought one but nowhere it says which cable is main not even the repair manual...

Great video. Fiddling with hardware usually scares me, but seeing this made me realize simple laptop upgrades/repairs are as easy as connecting my stereoset.

Its easy to upgrade this Hp NX 6320 laptop, I have two same laptops, i have installed Seagate Momentus® Hard Drive XT 500GB HDD and Momentus® 750 GB Hard Drive, ram upgraded to 3GB, works like a charm, Use it for Virtualisation 8 VMs run like a charm, very happy with it.

@JLcomputing I know this question is a year old but to answer the question of the antenna cables, it doesn't matter how u put it back. If it was different then the connection would be different.

the logic board on the screen is f'ed up.. it will need a new screen all together.. They are on ebay for 100 US dollars give or take.. all you would have to do is take off the tab's or the squar pads on the screen which will show you the hidden screws and gentley pry it open. For those that still have this problem.

By the way, the problem with my laptop seems to be found in the area under the touchpad, as sometimes the whole system stops working although it doesn't shut off. I think it might be some loose cable. Is there any way I can remove the whole touchpad area and around it so I can have a closer look at it. I simply can't remove the whole thing. Thanks!

@JLDJUK i think i have to change it, i let it dry by itself but than it was damaged,it shows a white line all over the bottom,at lest the keyboard and the laptop are not damaged !, thnx anyway

@noangel931 Try and see if it dries out otherwise you will probably have to replace the screen. You may find its not that bigger problem to use with the boubles
