Plug-in Vehicles 2008: What Role for Washington, was an effort of both Google.org and the Brookings Institution to stimulate the debate and catalyze change on plug-in vehicle policies in Washington.

PANEL 2: Plug-In Electric Vehicles: Where Are We Today?
What are the main barriers to putting millions of plug-in electric vehicles on the road soon? Can batteries be mass-produced at an affordable price? How long will these batteries last? Do we have sufficient electric generating capacity? Are business models in the utility and transport sectors adequate? How will consumers respond?
