This is the long unfinished sequel to a 2003 short of ours called "Pure of Heart".

In this film, the young peasant goes to the aid of a village who's young maiden and pot of gold have both been spirited away by a nasty dragon.

The first Young Peasant film was shot in one afternoon, the music was done in about a month.
THIS turkey.. it was shot in 2005, and I've been doing the music for it ever since. Music TAFE got in the way, and I never had the energy to finish it.
Well, some sleepless nights later I have finally completed it.

Here are the words to the Theme of Sir Hippo :

A hunger for conquest
A taste for the fight
He'll devour them all
A big burger to bite!

Death, victory, honour, and FOOD

Marching along,
a kebab in his sight,
Eating nuns on the left,
Baby SEALS to the right

Chicken, beef, baby and YOU
Sir Hippo!
Sir Hippo!!

.. and the epilogue..

He'll be eating in heaven
There'll be no doubt of that
Eating donuts and cream
And he'll never get fat!

One day, the Hippo, will rise, Again!
Sir Hippo!
Sir Hippo!!!

This turkey would have been completed two years ago if I weren't so lazy. I stopped making the music exactly halfway into the movie. When I started making it again, I had different guitars, different amps, and this lovely thing called EZDrummer.
For all of that I tried to keep it sounding similar ... :/

Anyway, that's about it.
One funny thing - during the fight on the play equipment, if you watch closely you will see Sir Hippo played by two different people. I had shot this ending fight scene twice, because my sister (who was supposed to play Hippo) could not make it on filming day and I wasn't sure I'd be able to finish the movie before Dad took the camrea on his 3 month holiday.
So we shot an alternate ending, just in case - using the Peasant as our Sir Hippo. Some of the shots were actually better, so they stayed in the film.

I'm tempted to upload a music-only version of the film, because I'm actually quite proud of one or two bits.

OKAY, that's it. Done. No more description, thankyou for watching.

  • That was great! You can tell you put tons of work into the soundtrack! It sounds like a cross between Bubba HoTep and Pick of Destiny!!

    Great job, keep it up!

  • Hey thanks! It was a lot of fun.

  • You really should consider making a third part to this oh so mighty epic series of films concerning the golden spoon. I'd bet real money it turns out much better than the Godfather Part III.

  • I started to pitch my idea for a 3rd movie to David,

his response was "NO, just no".
