It has gone a year since the Scottish National Party won the elections in Scotland and they announced they will organize an independence referendum. We have talked to the two main political parties (SNP and the Scottish Labour Party) and we have rebuilt the national debate they are having on independence. If there is something clear, is that the at least the atmosphere, is warming up.

Orain urtebete SNP alderdi abertzaleak Eskoziako hauteskundeak irabazi eta 2010. urterako independentzia erreferenduma antolatuko zuela ziurtatu zuenetik, eztabaida bizia piztu da herrialdean. Bi alderdi nagusienak diren SNP eta laboristen arteko eztabaida berreraiki nahi izan dugu bertako egoera hobeto azaldu asmoz. Giroa berotzen doala dudarik ez da geratzen.

  • i'm a liberal democrat and don't personally support independence but think it's an absolute disgrace that the scottish people are not going to get their say in 2010. i'm disgusted with my party who are supposedly democrats yet they reject a referendum. Labour and the tories make me sick too

  • you have access to the UN and the EU through the parliment ypu may decide that now because of the sconomic downturn it would be best for scotland to be indipendant the only resourse i can tell you have got is oil which in a few decades will run out what will happen then higher taxes and i dont think you will be happy about that i think its funny when we had an empire you were fine with the union but now we lost it not saying empire was good you want to leave we stand better united than divided

  • The EU is a choice for all countries who are a part of it. If we were independent it would be up to us if we remained in the EU or not, however as most of our trade is with the EU its a bit of a 'no brainer'!

  • Yeah sure Tweedle Dum (Tories) vs Tweedle Dee (Labour) is no choice. Scotland needs the normal national powers of independence and a genuine voice in the EU and UN. We are outvoted 10-1 within the British union and our opinions are ignored in every area that Westminster controls.

  • It's not your decision. It is up to Scotland if we become independent or not and there is no benefit to us from Britain controlling our defence. Scotland does not want or need nuclear weapons and while Britain exists we have no direct access to the EU or UN.

  • im sorry but i belive that the uk should be held together at all costs im english but belive that scotland should rule themselves while the uk has the decision on the army and share resources

  • I'm Flemish and I'm going to move to Scotland in the future, so I can vote for independence! Voila :D

And you guys help us to get rid of the French invasion, won't you? :p

  • I never celebrated anyway, I hate the fact that the English have pillaged our land for years and we put up with it!

If Westminster withhold our right for the referendum then I call for a Revolution to restore Scotlands long lost pride! Thats what all our historical figures were.........revolutionaries standing up to Imperialism!

    Scotland the Brave!!!!

  • What union? the Boilermakers?

  • The British, have been the most powerful and influential people on this earth. Our forefathers have given us a great Nation, and we all should be grateful. Beyond our borders there are many people's that could only dream to have what we've got...

Vote a new Government in westminster, Vote for Change, and bring back EQUAL rights for all British citizens.
