  • I love that you're 19 and appreciating all this old stuff - better than posting up happy slapping footage like some young people :-)

  • hell yeah!

i love vintage things, tv isnt like it used to be!!

  • On the testcard there is a date, i cant make it! out but this is definatly 1960's early playschool and did u add the testcard or is that real footage? ... im not slagging it its a gd vid but was just wondering if that was a start up as i know bbc2 launched its day at 11am with playschool in the 70's but dont know about the 60's

  • yeah, im 19, i can remember it from a video my mum got me, and it was on there! How awesome was playdays? why did they get rid of it? Why bird was simply the one! lol (you have inspired me to do a playdays vid now!) i found that test card on google, i knew it was at the start of a few things back then! Also, its just pictures i compiled, i was bored one evening, and this happened! Glad you enjoyed!!

  • i'm 15 and i LOVE this stuff! its so fascinating to see what it was like for kids in the 30s 40s 50s 60s and 70s.i'd never even think of watching happy slapping or the other useless violent crap that some people my age think is amusing. i'd give my left arm to have been alive in the 60s-70s! not even my parents can truly tell me what it was like :(

  • 'One for the parents.' Gawd, you're making me feel old.. LOL The 70's, TV-wise was different to what it is now. For one thing, the number of hours it actually broadcast programmes was a lot less. No breakfast TV and only 3 channels. One of which, BBC2, didn't transmit, (other than for Open University programmes at 6am, and half an hour to show PlaySchool at 11am), until the early evening! Childrens' programmes seemed more, 'homely', than they are now. But, that's just me being nostalgic.

  • What is the music you use to introduce bud? Sounds wicked! :P

  • What were you trying to do, England?

    Get up?

Thought so. Well you can't now. the door is locked, locks changed like they were supposed to be before "The One" too many.

  • you rule for putting this up!

  • Wonderful, back to Brian Cant and 1964 playschool, I was 6 and in the Infants in Portsmouth. The greatest kids show the BBC ever made 1964-88, I watch this with my sister 4 and my brother less than a year when it started, we are now 52, 51, 46.

Thank you for this clip, the memories have flooded back, This is real 60's footage, Brian sounds so young, he's nearing 80 now. One of BBC TV, best presenters.

  • @xwelshbeautyx The thing is, right now is your "good old days" when you get older the young people will say to how great it was when you were a kid.

  • @Kyruis

    LMAO. Spot on.

  • That damn girl..... She meant you were up too early :P

  • Eh? Am I missing the point here, or is this meant to be some kind of a wind up?
