Al Garcia and The rythmn Kings wond the Battle fothe Bands about 1965, I thnik, And this was one of the songs they played, they were out of Delano Ca, about 35 miles from My Hometown Bakersfield, Cheers~!

Exotic is by Bruce Morgan, but clearly draws heavily on the traditional Spanish dance piece El Zorongo. This is the original version of Exotic - this or the very similar version by Jim Waller & the Deltas. It quickly evolved into more surfy versions by the Surftones, the Original Surfaris, the Sentinals, and Bob Vaught & the Renegaids.

EXOTIC - THE RHYTHM KINGS: eclectic, groovy, i love it!

Yeah! Except I don't agree with the word eclectic. A great record is a great record, which = a SPECIFIC STATE OF AFFAIRS, as opposed to a generalised: everything-is-great-I'm-so-broad-minded-I-don't-have-any-standards type of fallacy.

"Main Entry: "eclec·tic-adjective: 1 : selecting what appears to be best in various doctrines, methods, or styles
2 : composed of elements drawn from various sources; also : heterogeneous"

I could withdrawl the word, but then would I say the song appears to not use the best of two diferent styles? I played bebop alto sax with rock and roll groups and the leaders of those groups disliked it. They were non-broad-minded so I quit playing with them.

Sure, yeah i know what it actually means, but common parlance has regulated it to a super-generalised everything-is-everything whatever. Incidentally: in my previous comment I wasn't having a pop at you, or your comment. Glad you like the record, and I like very much the high standard of great-record-age over at your site.
