This song is much deeper underneath the surface. The 700 ft. robot invading a city is every person, searching the whole world for your soul mate. "There's not a lot of giant 700 ft. robots to love" means you can never find someone exactly like you to love. The gluing together smaller robots means you don't need someone just like you. And the undersea manager stabbing you with a trident is the world, pushing you and your lover apart. Or I'm talking through my ass. Either one.
