Fritz Lang always made the best openings. Just think of some of his opening scenes: the city and workers in "Metropolis", the undercover cop in "Testament of Dr. Mabuse", Elsie Beckmann's murder in "M", the stock-market crash in "Dr. Mabuse the Gambler", and the opening of "Spies". Lang pulls you right in - it's impossible to see these scenes and not need to see how the rest of the film turns out. And rarely does he disappoint.
James Bond films are merely glossy imitations of the master: Fritz Lang.
