A big thanks to Globe Unity Orchestra for this fantastic concert at Mulhouse, 2008 edition! I can only recommend fans to take whatever opportunity to see them perform. They are just awesome!
Jean-Luc Cappozzo trompette, Rudi Mahall clarinette, Axel Dörner trompette, Evan Parker saxophone, Ernst-Ludwig Petrowsky saxophone, Gerd Dudek saxophone, Manfred Schoof trompette, Johannes Bauer trombone, Christof Tewes trombone, Alex Von Schlippenbach piano, Paul Lovens batterie, Paul Lytton batterie.
How easy to play this music once you have facility on your instrument.

i was yesterday at a live performance of the GUO in palermo. I have to say that i disagree with the amplification. Why put microphones if the blow instruments are already so powerful? there's no use in overloading the listener with that. Besides, the room was not big at all.

For all their "spontaneity" the bass clarinet still manages a quote from Ornette Coleman`s Free Jazz at c. 2.00 recorded nearly 50 years ago!

In what way? I paid money to see the GUO with Alex von Shlippenbach years ago and they couldn`t carry a tune then!

I love an artillery of power horns like this, a wall of sound with saxes, reeds and trombones in the style of Ken Vandermark and Peter Brotzmann.
Great video! Thanks.
