Abby Massee, who just ended her reign as the Hopkins Raspberry Queen, was crowned the 2010 Minneapolis Aquatennial Princess Friday at the Tedd Mann Concert Hall on the University of Minnesota campus.
She was one of 46 candidates from across the state who competed for the crown. Former Miss Delano Alexandra Forster was crowned Queen of the Lakes.
Massee graduated as valedictorian from High Tech Institute as a medical assistant and plans to attend a Minnesota college in the fall to receive a registered nursing degree.
Sen. Terri Bonoff and Rep. Dean Urdahl will hold a meeting 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Wayzata Depot to begin discussion of a proposed commuter rail line to extend from Minneapolis through Wayzata to west central Minnesota.
The purpose of the meeting is to generate ideas and gauge support for a proposed commuter rail line to extend from the new Minnesota Twins stadium in downtown Minneapolis through west metro communities and into west central Minnesota, as far as Willmar.
Besides the two legislators, attendees will include city and county officials, members of the Metropolitan Council and others.
