I purchased the Applecare protection for my iPhone when I first got it. About 4 months ago it started to show problems with the battery draining from 100% to 65% in less than two hours but at 65% the iphone would shut down due to "low-battery" nothing. After several rounds of restoring and testing for Apple they decided it had a problem and they replaced it! Yeah. But what I got was a phone that had speaker problems. Sometimes I would try to use the speaker phone function and the speaker would not work. This went on for a while until I figured out it wasn't just the phone app but everything that this could happen in. So after almost missing work because of not hearing the alarm (speaker problem) I decided to call apple back. They listened to what I said and told me to send the phone back. Well today I got the phone back and a note saying they could not get the device failure to be reproducible as I had explained it. Well this is my official rebuttal to their claim of not being able to reproduce the failure. To be honest I could not get this to fail out of my pocket on camera but I had told them that it was intermittent when it failed for the most part but finding this repeatable failure was not very hard once I investigated what was happening.
So here is a video of me reproducing how the speaker will go in and out with out me touching the volume buttons.
What happens next is up to Apple when I talk to them again.
Apple has agreed to take the iPhone back and fix the problem this time! Yea!!
