CSX U881-28 heads eastbound towards Baltimore at Riverdale Park. This fast mover is lead by a pair of CSX CW44AC units #331 and #268 with a dusty string of 130 loaded coal hoppers.

  • Holy Crap...130 coal cars...and 2 engines...good thing those beasts have a lot of power..and to go that fast!..Awesome video! The coal trains that come through here in Mass. are usually like 85-100 cars long but are pulled by 4-6 engines.

  • Not much in the way of grades on east of Cumberland MD so they can get away with 2 engines. Interesting though is that they are always AC units not the precious DC GEVOS.

  • Great catch!!

  • "Oops! We forgot the coal! Who was loading this thing, Gov. Perry?!?!?!"

  • A lot of flats

  • the gates were late

  • late gates

  • 182 box things connected to the train!!!!!

  • nice job dude 5*

  • Nice this train proves that CSX runs 3 bays and bethagons together!

  • You're right it was loaded. We picked up a small bag worth of coal blown out of the hoppers as it passed.

  • bennoach, The description says the train is going eastbound to Baltimore. That indicates it would be full. Westbound coal trains would be empty going back to the mines in WVa and PA.
