At ESCP Europe Business School London, 7pm, 20 May, around 70 business school faculty, MBA students and graduates and members of the press attended a panel debate. The debate was organised in response to various articles in the recent press which have attacked the value of the MBA and even inferred that MBAs might be somehow responsible for contributing to the current economic crisis.
The panel was made up of Jeanette Purcell, Chief Executive of the Association of MBAs, Davide Sola, Head of the ESCP Europe Business School London Campus and Philip Delves-Broughton, author of the damning article, 'Harvards Masters of the Apocalypse' (Sunday Times, 1 March), and book What they teach you at Harvard Business School. The discussion was moderated by former BBC journalist Lindsay Williams.
