He sounds much more relaxed than I've ever heard him in this repertoire. I've noticed Russian repertoire has that relaxing effect on singers that do it well. It's a little forced still, as it usually is with Heppner, but quite a step in the right direction. The squeezed high note just after 2:08 and the inconsistent fade-out around 2:34 show that same tension he always seems to have. I hope he works these out before too long.
