"Lawrence Welk Presents Pete Fountain" an LP worth looking
for.

@greenturtle84 I first heard him at a car show in Washington, D.C. where I grew up at the age of 6 (1958). I wanted to play clarinet from then and just picked it back up and am learning all of his tunes. I got distracted with the tenor sax and flute but really love the clarinet.

I've loved Pete ever since I learned about him from the Lawrence Welk Show about 46 years ago. I still play a glass mouthpiece on my clarinets on account of his sound! Glad to see he still sounds just as beautiful and swings just as effortlessly!

Not to mention he must have gotten tired wearing contact lenses by this time. And who could blame him? 50's contacts were large, very hard, and very uncomfortable!
