Deepavali - Message of His Holiness Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji

Today we are celebrating "Deepavali". Deepa means light which illuminates mind leading to Knowledge. It removes darkness. Narakasura, the demon had hidden under arrest in dungeon several ladies against their wishes. On this auspicious day, they were brought back by Lord Krishna. Many people did not light their houses during night for the fear of demon finding their houses.(like during war times). Narakasura was like a big bomb. Lord Krishna along with Sathyabhama went and freed the woman folk. The freed women were happily taken by their husbands. This is the reason for the tradition of - son in law coming to the house of the father in law during Deepavali festival. Happy Deepavali to all. May Lord Bless Karnataka which has faced unprecedented and devastating floods. I pray Lord Sri Hari Krishna to Bless us. May you all get wealth, gold, material benefits, vehicles, devotion to God and Devotion to Sadguru. Jai Guru Datta Sri Guru Datta
