In a CNBC interview this morning, prominent Obama supporter and economic advisor Warren Buffett echoed Republicans when he said he would favor of scrapping the Democrats bill and starting over -- saying Congress should first and foremost focus on reducing health care costs. At last weeks White House summit, a unified Republican team made clear it was standing with the American people who want to scrap this massive bill and start over with a clean sheet of paper so we can work on step-by-step, common-sense reforms that lower health care costs.

  • Why are buffett's interviewers always young women?

  • I think he is making the point the Obama's plan goes far short of what is good for Americans, but the fact remains that it is far better than the Republican alternative, which is to do nothing but keep feeding their lobbyist Insurance and Pharmaceutical companies billions of dollars for a system that is broken to begin with. I'm sure Mr Buffet would agree that hard working Americans deserve better than the Republican alternative, so using this as a position to scrap the plan is disingenuous.

  • let me save you people some time

government - "bullshit" = not possible, that is all. at the end of your day and mine it is all metaphysics as does the sun rise you will resent particular methodology..now where the fuck is my nobel peace sticker from an inner city school in detroit?

  • @wjksea Hmmm. you make an excellant point. Except that it is absolute bull shit. I am not saying that all government is bad. Indeed their are services the government can offer that would be more efficient then if the private sector did it (judicial, police, military, UN representation). However, socialism is when you want government to spread to sectors where they can't add value. The argument used (since it can not possibly be justified by cost) is that they are promoting fairness.

  • @daobagua Not everyone is a black and white thinker. Hybrid systems work everywhere. Fundamentalistic thinking is the cancer that is dividing and weakening this country. Regulated capitalism worked wonderfully in this country until the Ayn Rand libertarian gooks of the boomer generation created an economic meth orgy that has left conditions strung out.

  • Why is health care so special? It seems to me that if you can not afford a home or food you will die faster then if you can not afford health care. And yet we say that health care is a right, and not a business, but home builders and grocery stores are still businesses. Either you are for a market based private enterprise economy. Or you are for a central control socialist economy. No logical reason to sit on the fence.
