I was there in 1999, serving with the 1st Btn Irish Guards in the same lead armoured battle group as James Blunt (although he was just a typical household division officer to me at the time!). This song stirs up memories of my time over there and the lyrics say it all for me. They really were so grateful of us being there. Wonderful people. I'm glad things have improved and they are free to get on with their normal lives in peace. I will never forget the people I met.
