Four stories from Hans Christian Andersen appear in The Daydreamer, a feature using the Animagic process that uses live action combined with stop-motion puppets. Included are "The Little Mermaid," "The Emperor's New Clothes," "Thumbelina," and "The Garden Of Paradise." Songs and dances compliment an international all-star cast of voices used for the characters. Ray Bolger, Margaret Hamilton, Burl Ives, Hayley Mills, Boris Karloff, Cyril Ritchard, Patty Duke, Terry-Thomas and Victor Borge join Ed Wynn in his second-to-last screen role. This was the last film in which fans would hear the voices of Sessue Hayakawa and Tallulah Bankhead. Director Jules Bass provided the lyrics, with Murray Law providing the music for this entertaining children's fantasy.
Back in the 80's, in LA Tom Hayden would show this on his family film festival at least once a year. His show would always start with the Little River Band's song REMINISCING.

Thank you so much for posting this. I haven't heard this song in 40 years, but it stayed with me all these years. I was beginning to think I dreamed this. The song still rocks :)

I used to have the song "Isn't it cozy here" on my answering machine and everyone was asking me what that song was from. I searched the net an only just found it again. We used to watch this movie every holiday. Lots of greats in here, Boris Karloff and many others.. thx for posting

Everybody knows that Rankin Bass made programs for children .I really don't think that children back then were passing social judgements on a fictional animal that happened to look and sound asian . Most children don't even know what the word stereotypical means .

The slitted eyed (blind) mole with the voice of an asian man..? Really? I thought they were amidst a social revolution in 1966!
