If youre new to rifles..get to reading, cause there's a touch more involved to landing shots sent from over 600yrds than just the scope. I'm sure you know that much though. Goodluck'

Is this scope not waterproof, snow, extreme weather proof? Looking for a scope for a Tactical Rifle .308 that will land shots at 1000yrds. I was looking at the Leupold brand, but couldnt tell if I was getting my money's worth with Leupold Vari-X III 4.5-14x40mm at double this scopes cost Leapers Accushot 6-24x56 SWAT Rifle Scope, Illuminated Mil-Dot Reticle, 1/8 MOA, 30mm Tube. I'm new to rifles, but I want the best scope under $1000
