If u listen carefully at 3:37, u can hear one of the music judges say "very strong tenor solo."

That would be, "very strong tempo."

Does this band play with taped music, or is everything live? Man, if it's all live, what a great band!!!

Hey Mischeaux!
Thanks for the compliment. We play all of our own music as part of the rules of the String Band Division of the Mummers Parade. We get judged in Music, Show, and Costume.
I know you see mostly saxes and probably wonder where "String Band" comes from, but that's just the way things have evolved within the rules of the parade. Reed instruments are allowed, but brass instruments are not.
Thanks for your interest!

Hey, Hi!!! You're actually IN the band, that's fantastic! I am just totally enthralled with your arrangements! Who does them, and does he have anything published? The complexity of the lines used are just incredible. You guys are great!

Our music director's name is John Wernega. He does all of our New Years Day arrangements but he actually teaches elementary school music as a day job and runs his church's choir when he isn't composing first prize Mummers Parade String Band arrangements.
Thanks for your interest!
