  • This is why you get a Mac

  • Extended Support until 8 April 2014

(only Service Pack 3 x86 and Service Pack 2 x64)[2]

Security updates will be provided free of cost.

    Paid support is still available.

  • i'd keep xp and get antivirus. This was a sad day for me too.

  • I'll get a new laptop! With Win7

  • No mainstream support for SP2 has been extended to 13 July 2010, which is not a long way away, SP3 will be extended to 8th April 2014

  • No they said that agreement for payment is 14 July 2009 WHICH IS MY B-DAY!

  • hate to tell you but you have to have vista installed to upgrade to windows 7 unless you clean install so i would pre order windows 7 for 50$ for the ultimate ver and just but vista basic to upgrade to 7.

  • Well, you'll have to get Sonic the Hedgehog to personally scream that into my parent's faces if that is needed. My parents didn't budge from Windows 95 until 2004 and they did then because the computer was dead (had constant problems). My parents like XP so unless a reinstallation is needed (misplaced disk) or the CPU dies, its going to be XP.

  • If Microsoft looses customers, its not our fault its their fault. I have Vista, but i still use Windows XP. Windows XP is one of the greatest operating system in the 2000s.

  • lol, if you knew what you were doing, you wouldn't get any viruses.
