Mayor Ray Nagin does not want the contract process to be public when it comes to awarding public contracts. The City Council passed an Ordnance; however, the Mayor issued an executive order. Now he is free to do as he pleases. Forbes ranked the best States for Business and in 2006, Louisiana was last on the list and in 2007, Louisiana ranked 49. According to the New York Times, in an article published December 13, 2008, convictions per million residents Louisiana ranked number 6. If ranked by the total number of guilty officials, Louisiana is ranked number 10, with 332 guilty officials. Please note, these were only the ones found guilty, they still have US Senator Mary Landrieu who will eventually slip up and be caught.

  • When is he leaving office? Why can't he leave early?

  • We need transparency in New Orleans! We've allowed corrupt politicians to run this city for too long. If we want to rebuild New Orleans, we must start with a just and unbiased group of leaders. New Orleans should be run by the people, not the corrupt government currently in place!
