A pivotal moment in car history when Nissan's Carlos Ghosn announces that Nissan goes all in with electric cars. that the future is all electric and that they want to lead. November 2007 at the Tokyo Motor Show.
The Nissan Leaf was not yet known at the time but is a direct result of this. This in turn is a direct reaction to GM's Volt concept which was a reaction to the awakening of the world from Who Killed the Electric Car and Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth and exemplified by the Tesla Roadster.
