MECHANICAL RODEO BULL [ KINETIC ART ]

Undergraduate kinetic sculpture by Brady W. Hatter of Wichita State University. Mechanical rodeo bull on a micro scale. In nature, the giant cicada killer wasps abduct the cicadas from the trees with a violent attack. The screaming cicada jerks and twists trying to buck the parasitic wasp. More often than not the paralyzed cicada loses the fight and is carried to an underground tunnel. There it is fed to developing wasps larvae. The human viewer controls the bucking cicada with two joysticks above the arena. Microcosms surround us. We should question our instincts more often. Don't play with your food.
