http://nureinwort.blogspot.com Our Western unconditional support for the Khalifa dictatorship of Bahrain proves how empty our slogans on 'freedom' and 'democracy' have always been / El apoyo incondicional de los régimenes occidentales a la dictadura Khalifa de Baréin demuestra la falta de sinceridad de nuestros gobernantes

Shia-Sunni Bahrainis rise against the brutal indifference and brutal al Khalifa dictatorship, proud host to the US Navy Fifth Fleet and grantee of the Saudi regime and oil emirate regimes.

  • Hmmm, personally I feel that the West shouldn't get involved at all in this situation. In the past it has proven to be unable to intervene in the Middle East without causing damage. It's better if the West just stays out.

  • @FreeEcon Of course it should stay out, that is the whole point. If it wasn't because the US has a military base there, and Saudi Arabia gets 60 billion dollars in US weapons to slaughter Bahrainis, then none of it would happen... Not to mention all other of our Western economic interests deposited in the Khalifa families' dictatorships in Bahrain and Qatar, and their partner families in the UAE.

  • Obama will lost all his creditability in democracy. if he is a true democratic leader he should not share the human rights violations of the Bahraini regime. if he scared about his us navy in bahrain if the government changed. simply, he should go and negociate with the oppesotion in Bahrain because they are well-educated. and they arabs not iranian and they have their own views.. Down With Alkhalifa .. Obama should take clear and seriuos action against the alkhalifa killers

  • @FreeEcon we don't want the US to directly interfere BUT, Bahrain with that many US soldiers on it is as close to being a colony as it can be, and so is Saudi, UAE and Kuwait. US therefor is responsible to their action.

or forget about that, a simple arms embargo would be nice! or the next time US official speaks to the regime in Bahrain they should use both carrot (rewards) & stick (punishment). there is absolutely no consequence to killing a shi'ite at all. ring a bell? Hint: heil Obama

  • Bahrain is safe now though i lived there and i rarely had a problem

  • @germanicus24 Yea, it's a real shame. The Gulf States are beautiful, and the people there are wonderful. People need to remember, that just as they don't like it when someone meddles in their business, no one likes it when they meddle in the business of others, even if their intentions are good.

BTW, who do you think will fall in the Mideast?

  • oh my god!!! What's hypocrisy
