@ex0dus696 Wrong!.. Photography in public is %100 legal, as there is no assumption of privacy.. Now if it where in a business or private residence, it would be another story.. How do you think the paparazzi make a living? Photography -IS NOT- a crime, and they have NO authority to detain you, take your property, or delete your tape.. That being said, just because they don't have authority does not mean they will not lie and do it anyways..

FTP, if you do not harm or hurt any person or animal, they should let you go.

@ex0dus696 You are fully within your rights to film police in the UK if you are law abiding. There is one exception when the policeman enacts the section 44 terrorism act of 2000, they must say this verbally to you, and even then they must have grounds to believe you are going to use the film for terrorist actions. If there are no grounds to believe you are going to use film for terrorist reasons then they can not tell you to stop filming. If they say different they are lying.

They telling you to stop filming because you had your hand over the bloody lens, and the camera was cocked at a cack handed angle. You'll never capture images of police brutality with such shoody camera work. Tsk. Tsk.
