With world-ranked lightweight Shinya Aoki on David Gardners back, the American made the mistake of waving to the crowd and yelling Hi, Japan instead of defending against the choke. Aoki (20-3, 1 NC) seized the opportunity and cinched the rear-naked choke, at once punishing Gardner (16-11) for his antics and coaxing the tapout 5:58 into the first round.

  • Good night Japan!

  • @DrJinIchi You don't call me sir!! What's wrong with you? Didn't your mother teach you any manners? Sir!!? I can't believe they let you get away with that on Youtube!

  • @ung427 you are stupid sir.

  • @ung427 A few simple Google searches will show you everything you want to know about the incident. I saw it live. It was hilarious. I also train and compete. I'm telling you that no matter how dumb any pro MMA fighter could be (Gardner is pretty dumb), no one would stop actively defending a "dead-zone" spot like that (opponent on back, both hooks in, seatbelt control) to say they broke their hand. They would wait and tell their corner at the end of the round. David fucked up. It's that simple.

  • @ung427 Just go to his official fightfinder on Sherdog. He personally requested that they change his nickname to David "Hello Japan" Gardner.

  • @ung427 Also, look at his lips.. "hello japan" or "I broke my hand"... it's strange that his mouth moves like, "I broke my hand"

  • @WhtMike2006 That's strage. It sounds just like he said "I broke my hand!" Right after he gently caressed Aoki's hand. Hmm.

  • @ung427 that's not what happened at all. He's admitted he said Hello Japan. No pro fighter would ever stop defending the seatbelt/over-unders just to yell that their hand is broken. They would wait until the round is over. His nickname is Hello Japan. He said it and admitted he said it.

  • thankyou
