WOW there are some real tards on this making completely ill informed commentary... As long as a platform reaches a certain standard it doesn't matter what it is. It is the military as a system which determines combat effectiveness. So tank X vs tank Y commentary is stupid. The Abrams fits better than other tanks into the "ausmilitaries system". The turbines engine provides the abrams with versatility as it can use any fuel type...
