  • If 20 million American citizens who are already registered voters would be disenfranchised by Voter ID laws, then how did they become registered voters in the first place? Did they 'suddenly' lose their identification? Or perhaps upon registration, was having some sort of identification NOT a requirement? If that's the case, then we have a more serious problem to tackle if we're going to be all up in arms about this issue. By the way, asking someone to show a photo ID is a commonplace practice.

  • lol every other country I can think of requires Id's to vote.... whats the big deal pppl that dont have these ids are not disallowed to vote .... rather they are required to get one. This is silly. Its less hustle then voter registration. >.<

  • @sockmess Where I live, you register to vote, and when you're confirmed, you can walk into your voting area, give them your name, and they'll have you on the list. No ID needed.

  • @drinfested No. I think only people who can properly identify themselves should be able to vote. Remember, not every citizen is eligible to vote. Those who are under 18 and those who committed felonies. Now if you don't need an id to vote how do you make sure these people don't vote let alone the illegals and people who commit voter fraud?

  • These GOP led voter-disenfranchisement laws are an assault on our very democracy.

Every single one of these GOP anti-voter laws need to be struck down.

  • @sockmess Don't you think every citizen of this country should be allowed to vote regardless of whether or not they have a drivers license? We should encourage people to get out and vote, not hold them back.

  • We need to have IQ testing! If we had IQ testing Republicans would win every election! This is just sad, how can you say that requiring an ID doesn't prevent voter fraud? Is there some magic way to tell if a person is registered under their real identity? Once again I'm baffled by the Democrats backwards logic!

  • @JayLaher You are absolutely right...who DOESN'T have ID? (aside from illegal alliens) You need an ID for everything these days...they are not hard to get, as long as you are a United States citizen. What totally blows my mind is how these bass ackwards liberals try to claim voter ID laws to be "racist"! Last time I checked, the DMVs and social security offices do not practice 'Jim Crow' policies; ANY US citizen can get a state ID, just as easily as anyone else, regardless of race/religion/age

  • Did he say veterans? If there is one thing I know is that retired military personal have a military ID, if they don't then voting is the least of their worries.

  • The constitution also states that in order to vote, you must be a US citizen. If an ID is such a hassle, and they are SO much for supporting our constitution, then come up with better way to PROVE US citizenship (I know ID doesn't, but that isn't the point) before they vote! that will kill two birds with one stone. Also their reporting of voter fraud is a travesty especially in light of how many times its been reported in the news and by eyewitness accounts (people seen at multiple poll stns...)
