It's amazing how Lea can control her voice. But it's also disappointing sometimes it can't be powerful enough. But then again, she achieves that certain sweetness that is hard for just anyone to achieve. And it's so theatrical.. ^-^...
Pretty much neutral here, because sometimes her voice is so appropriate for the song, and sometimes it's not. And she does compensate with her facial emotions and hand gestures.
"full of herself" maybe she's just confident. She's a great singer and a great actress. Actually, she's wonderful. She IS a diva, because she's earned that title through her hard work. Sure Ruthie was great, but if you have nothing good to say here, just don't type anything at all. Insulting is different from comparing.
As for Lea it's her sweet voice that makes me love her, but then again, it's that voice that I hate sometimes.. Sometimes it's a bit inappropriate, I guess.
the look before she started singing. the smile that went away and the arrogant sneer. that is very lea. the diva attitude, the arrogance. so full of herself.
for me, of all of lea's performances of this song, this rendition is the best already. but then again, its hard to get pas ruthie's powerful performance of this song
Lea was performing in Bryant Park, which is outdoors and in the heart of midtown Manhattan, while Ruthie was performing in a concert hall. But I saw your other comment about Lea using facial expressions to supplement and I can agree with that.
lea performed in the same concert. lea's best performance that nigh is no match to ruthie's rendition of i dreamed a dream. ruthie's voice has more depth, 10x more powerful than lea's shrill, thin, girly, cartoonic voice. listen how ruthie sang especially the phrase "so diffrent from this hell im living" that was very soulful and very powerful - something lea would never be able to do. lea is even just a 2nd choice to play eponine, wala lang kasi ung first choice kasi buntis
hoy lanibest of all divas..i heard ung kay ruthie..bobo kaba....open air ang pagkanta ni lea...ung kay ruthie may halo ng daya ng mic/....magaling pa din c lea....best of all the best noh!!!
lea has to give her 100% to equal 10% of ruthie's vocal power. ruthie has by far the most powerful and emotional rendition of this song. the way ruthie sang the phrase "so different from this hell im living" is out of this work. lea tried to match it but she cannot. she is just a student compared to ruthie who is a master. vocally speaking, ruthie has more depth, more power, more poise, and more range. lea is best suited for animated and disney voices though
if u listen to ruthie, her voice is very emotionally charged and powerful. ruthie is like 10x more powerful than lea. this song belongs to ruthie. the way ruthie sang "so different from this hell i'm living" is unsurpassed, power and soul combined. compare the way lea sang that phrase with the way ruthie sang the same phrase. and you will notice that lea sounded like a student being compared to a master.
