If you didn't know Dekalb county is one of the if not the wealthiest african American counties in the world, during this time period between the parents a very hefty budget and plenty of car washes and raffles this was no problem as far as i can remember the West has always kept atleast 16 tubas. during our glory years we were fortunate to have more than that. I dont think another highschool band will accomplish half the things SWD has. supporters like pastor Eddy L. Long has given thousands.

@meat3456 Also in 2002 NCAT was smaller than FAMU but yet when they had their 5qt people was saying that NCAT has just as much power as the 2002 "100", your sound doesn't come from the numbers you march. Your sound comes from the conpect of your band and how your songs are arrnage and the air that you push out your horns in a bigger band things are hard to controll than they are in a smaller band as far as pitch ect.

LMAO really man just because a band is bigger doesnt mean there are more kids playing which also doesnt mean your sound will be bigger. Take Miller Grove they are a small band made of mostly Brass they probably much 120-130 yet they have a bigger sound than SHS and SWD. FAMU was smaller in 05,06 than is 02 I will give you that but the 80's "100" was smaller than the 02 "100" but their sound was more powerdul and shaper and better.

Ignorance is you buddy, Size of the band plays no roll in the sound of the ball in fact the only thing the size of the band determine is what all you can do to an arrganement but the overall sound comes for how the band project it. FAMU in fact was smaller in 2002 but sound, and look way better than the 2005,2006 FAMU band. So now lets me smh at you ignorance.
