@mikevltg3 - This is why you can watch his Lady Gaga parody on his youtube channel, but it isn't on his CD...not for sale. If he was concerned about her not giving permission, he wouldn't even have it posted on youtube.

@mikevltg3 - Let me clear this up. If Al wants to put any parody on a CD to sell it, he is REQUIRED BY LAW to obtain permission first from whoever owns the rights to the song...whether that be the songwriter, the record company, etc., otherwise he can be sued by them. However, if it is not being used in a commercial manner, it's acceptable. Same reason why you can sing the Happy Birthday song without being sued, but you never see anyone sing it on TV because the network has to pay royalties.

@SoldierSide77 Not that he has to, he just prefers to get their permission. Guess he got the ok to do this song, they just said it couldn't be released commercially, like the stuff with Gaga recently.

That is funny! He is probably the only guy courageous enough to parody The Prodigy, I mean, Liam Howlett and Keith Flint could kick his butt, but no, he just got on it. This guy is awesome, no matter what my dad says!

Most artists are totally flattered at Weird Al doing their songs/videos. And for good reason. Weird Al's parodies are almost always superb!
