  • i wonder if they "recognise" those who are born in familys who give alot of money to the monesteries? i hope not and am not saying they do, but this has crossed my mind for some reason. perhaps it is my cruddy karma that thinks such things.

but institutions and rigpa are two diff things. and not ultimately

  • @vajraloka1 I would not know if donors get recognized. I do know that in this case that is not true. Tulku was recognized at a time when he was very young and both parents were working to put his dad through college and simply pay the mortgage. In fact both parents did service work because they lacked money to donate. I have heard others ask the same question however I lack sufficient knowledge to know what happens in all cases. I do know what happened in this case.

  • Thank-you It is hard being a American Tulku in America. And I thank all of the sanga members around the world that I have traveled and gotten teachings with. I want to thank all of you for your help and guidance and being a teacher to me as well. Samsara Is something that we all deal with. But what most people do not know our do not realize is that all of us are Tulkus!!!!!!

  • Ohhhh Yea Tradak Tulku Jack!!!

  • @vajraloka1 Yes sometimes the appointment of tulkus is political, I heard that the Dalai Lama once said that a large portion of the tulkus recognized in Tibet were fake... it does happen

  • @vajraloka1 I would assume usually not. In most cases, monk's apprentices go into the world, often to places that they have never been before, to several different homes, in order to find the tulku of their masters. The families from which the tulkus belong would therefore probably not donate to that specific monastery. Furthermore, often the tulkus come from poor families that cannot afford to donate much.

  • To be a Tulku is not that easy, one has lot of resposible !
