@19TheDrummerGirl Very social. Two of same gender is minimum. :D I like to have 3 at a time but two is okay. :) They are too easy to breed! I do not recommend breeding them when you are new to rats, especially with parents who aren't so sure! ;) Average litter size is about 12 babies, and they can have as many as 18! Get a pair of females or a pair of males, not one of each. Good luck! <:3)~~~
@19TheDrummerGirl Easy to care for, remarkably clean (they bathe themselves more frequently than cats do!), extremely loving. Intelligent and trainable. Most rats instinctively "do their business" only in certain spots, so usually you can just put the litter boxes in those spots (put some old poo in there to give them the clue). When they're playing just make sure they can ALWAYS get back to the cage or some other recognized potty spot (such as a carrier or travel cage) and they'll not mess.
I really want a rat... but my parents aren't so sure. What are some good reasons to have them, like are they easy to care for? Also, would you be able to post a vid of how to litter box train them? This video really helps, btw. :)
i love rats. i am sick of people using the word rat as an insult, rats are actually a lot smarter, cuter and adaptable then some cutsy little rabbit that you find in some crappy run-down pet store. rats are for awesome people.
that's one of the thousands of reasons why this summer i am going to get some rats of my own.
Hey. I love all of your videos. Please make more. I had no idea you had a rat named Iris! I have one rat and her name is Iris! Thanks for reading this if you are. :)
My son bought 3 female rats and loves them. The store made us wait until they were big enough to leave their mom, but now they are scared of people and won't let anyone touch or hold them. Any idea how to teach them otherwise?
@MsSunnyvalley- Thanks! What do you know about breeding? this really helps, btw :)

Sorry, I have one more question. xD They are social animals, right? Would two of them be enough for each other? And are they hard to breed?
