very well put - *see* Valentina Lisitsa, but listen Berezovski.

"See" Valentina, ok, but take earplugs, against the relentless banging and gabbled nonsense of her playing. No wonder her poor piano has gone disastrously out of tune. If the wheels were not locked, it would surely slide off the stage in shame.

@tjtheplay each to their own but it is on an out of tune piano and she has wrong accents and no direction
-
@coaster1000 Maybe, but most of his better known works have a legacy involved. Legends and legacies attract people, especially his preludes.

Berezovsky is such an intelligent artist - he has an incredible sense of the structure... It is a pity that this sonata is so underplayed, it may even be Rachmaninovs best work.
-
He does a great job with this sonata!

@tecneclima davvero! pero a me piace di piu quello di Rachmaninov quando suona lui stesso.

@NOSEhow2LIV I actually prefer Valentina's as well.

Do you know where this video is available (the source)? I want to buy it. I think Berezovsky only recorded it in his early career (around time of Tchaikovsky competition). I love this performance of it. He plays the last movement at JUST the right tempo.
This is a marvellous performance.
