As far as I know, this is the one if not only recording of Richter playing any opera transcription. From what I remember reading , he despised playing transcriptions.

@manishbabu The original Russian title was "Compozitor Glinka'. In the USA it was released under the title "Man of Music".

@Nimenicamine01 Sorry...the Etude is no. 9 (so called "Ricordanza" in 1851 version). And Glinka's piece isn't the Ouverture, but the "Tscherkassenmarsch" from Russlan and Ludmilla.
