VG Troubadour - Sonic Best and Worst [Part 3/3]

Join the Jonin Monkey as he evaluates the storylines of video games and tries to find the best and the worst in the hope that someday video game narrative will be taken seriously and will evolve to the next level. Obviously I'm new to the world of video reviews so any feeback (but preferably constructive) will be very helpfull.

First I think you mean 'hear it. second of all, what are you objecting to exactly? If I just uploaded the best/worst scenes without any editing or explanation, not only would it take much longer than 3 videos, it would defeat the entire purpose of a review/countdown. Me explaining my opinions and using the footage as an example in order to say to people whether or not they should check it out themselves is the entire point of a video review whether person making it is good or bad.

I know I may get sersiouly get flammed by you for this, but I think that Sonic Chronicles wasn't THAT bad. Sure, Sonic's first RPG could have been executed better, but it could have been worse as well (EX: random encounters). I think Bioware tried to make the game simple enough for everyone to pick up and try not to screw up too much. I wish they would make a second game with inproved gameplay and to explain the cliffhanger, but that may never happen since their RPG handhed division was trashed.

Don't worry, I'll never flame anyone for having a different opinion (debate maybe, but never flame). And yeah the gameplay could have been worse, but honestly the soundtrack and the story were some of the worst I've seen/heard in a long time, so I can't forgive it for that (as I said I'll give more details when I do the full review). Although I will agree that Bioware should make a second game, if only to make up for the stupid ending.

I'm a loyal fan of the Sonic series, and there were some Sonic games I liked that not many others did, but you have a point about some of these games. Now, although I agree with your feelings about the ending of Sonic Chronicles, the reaction you made about it was EPIC! I can't quit laughing whenever I listen to it!

sonic brotherhood chronicles has the most retarded ending of the videogames history, including diablo 1 ending seems to be intelligent comparing it to this

At least SEGA are starting to get back to basics with Colors and Sonic 4, but it will be a while to improve their script writing.

This is the reason why Story Writing in Games SHOULD have been taught in university,

I completely agree with everything that you said.  The ending of Sonic Chronicles was terrible!
