  • As much as I love G&G, I still think M&D should have got gold here. It can be argued that all 4 silver medalists in Lillehammer deserved the gold. We just don't see pairs like G&G and M&D anymore, although Shen and Zhao have proved themselves to be nothing less than stellar.

  • @ja3399 Agreed. It takes a lot to beat G & G's classic style, but to me, there is no competition between these two programs. G & G were amazing as usual, but this...Verne said it best: breathtaking. I wonder if things would have been different if they'd skated after G & G.

    *Sigh*

  • These 2 should have won the gold. They outskated and performed so much better than G and G. G and G were good but these guys were better. I was really disappointed when they came 2nd

  • @ja3399 I always find myself agreeing with you. I LOVED G&G but this, on the night, was better.

  • Both M&D and G&G were amazing pairs, and watching both of them was like magic. They had two completely different styles and completely different types of beauty. Because of that who are we to judge which couple deserved the gold medal? How can you say one is better than other when the styles are so different?

  • Perhaps G&G's small mistakes in the long were a result of having to skate after this inspired free skate. Perhaps G&G thought , as many others did aswell, that M&D would mess up based on a bad week of practices.

  • I've wavered on this one for 18 years now. Artur did skate w/ "reckless abandon," and I live life that way, which is one reason I loved M&D. At the time I felt they had the gold medal by a narrow margin. Someone made a laborious YT video showing both FSs side-by-side, concluding G&G won it fair and square, and for a long while I was convinced. When I said so, I was massively spammed! First time ever. Now I appreciate both skates, watch them occasionally, but always come back to this one.

  • i am so a great fan from G&G

but this is the best one what I have one day seen

  • In all honesty I don't think either team should have been able to skate....I was sooooooooooooooooo mad when they reinstated the pros it wasn't fair !!!

they already had thier turn they robbed up and comings of thier glory!

  • I think this program should have been the winner !

  • I think this program shouldhave been the winner !

  • I just loved this pair and I thought, as others did, that this was the gold medal winning performance that night. With much respect to G&G who were perhaps the most amazing team ever, M&D had this one over them that night. The music and the choreography were nothing short of spectacular. I also found myself watching HIM as much as Her. Artur was a very strong and passionate skater. Perfection!!
