During a campaign stop with senior citizens in Indiana, Sen. Barack Obama called for an overhaul of the federal tax code. Obama said, if elected, that he would give the middle class a tax cut as well as halt the income tax on social security. (May 2)
Notice how none of them talk about the fact that the Federal Reserve and the income tax are unconstitutional.

jakesunrider01 you are so right. I dont believe that anything that Obama is going to do is going to bring enough change...hopefully im wrong...
Ron Paul would've been a much better President. ANYONE who advocates the original intent of the Constitution would be better.

billrah the income tax is unconstitutional. It should be eliminated. Along with the Federal Reserve which is also unconstitutional. Constitution says that the states must use gold and silver as legal tender. That means the money has to be backed by gold and silver. The Federal Reserve doesnt back up our money with either one. The income tax does not fall under the guidlines that the constitution has set for an indirect or direct tax.

Bush, and perhaps McCain? think that you can get a good economy just by giving rich people all sorts of tax breaks. That's all you have to do on economics!!!??? It's so stupid for them to think that way, it's almost funny.
It isn't working, so it's time to go back to what has worked in the past.
I think democrats are better at getting a good economy, and the republicans are better at foreign policy.
I'm voting democrat for the 3rd time out of 8 elections. And I've picked every winner so far!!

I am a 69 year old retired person. For the last 5 years I have paid appx $1200 to $1400 in federal income tax. However when I file my taxes I have received a rebate of it all. How is that any different than not paying the tax.
I am in the income group of $50,000
