  • Hi, may I please know if this recording is commercially available? I am not able to locate it. Thanks.

  • I once found many Cortot recordings (Duo Arte in particular) at the UK Hyperion company, but they seem to have vanished from the site. Hyperion used to specialize in DDD recordings from the advanced "pianola" systems like the Duo Arte. Maybe others took over? The recordings from my YouTube collection above are from a very early CD or LP, dating back to 1954. I have not noted this particular company at the time. Sorry! ou can grab my material via downloadhelper plugin inside Firefox browser

  • I wonder why did you put some swamp, muddy image on the 1st...?

  • It suggests a reflective mood. That's all.

The water reflecting trees and the sky resembles an etching of a famous Dutch artist, Escher. It inspired me originally to make this picture. I prefer mixing Cortot with my own pictures over just images of himself...

  • dont u have nothing about vladimir pachaman

  • No, the name says nothing to me...

  • He is amazing. Just amazing. I'm totally into the pre-exactness folks...I was stuck on Cliburn, Richter, the mechanics...then I found Cziffra, got to see the mechanics detest him at the Hollywood Bowl..then along comes YouTube with this whole 40 year period of early recordings of folks who knew these composers and who loved FEELING...thanks, all for these postings...

  • Superb! Bravo! TY.

  • Vladimir de Pachman: Born in Odessa, 27 July 1848; Died in Rome, 7 Jan 1933. Ukrainian pianist. He studied at the Vienna Conservatory and made his début in Odessa in 1869. After further study he did not reappear until 1879, when he toured widely in Europe and the USA. He was renowned for his sensitive touch, notably in Chopin, and eccentric platform manner.
