Lol. There usually is no understanding RHCP, especially their early stuff, but they're usually all metaphors. The ''mommy'' figure could be someone's girlfriend, look for her boyfriend (''daddy'') which is going stray or something. Who cares? Funk shit up.

I used to think that this song was dirty, but 20 years down the road, I think that this was about Flea and his daughter who would ask where daddy was when he was out playing shows, or wherever else. I think in that context it is a very sweet song, one of the best and most funky they have ever done.

I torrented these first three albums and BSSM, and I can really say the chilis have a lot more of a diverse style than I ever could have guessed, this being a good example, "Grandaddy Du Plenty" is another great example.
