2009 was a record-setting year! Farmers and conservationists in California have written a chapter for the history books. Resource Conservation Districts, landowners, partners and USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) worked together in 2009 to set Farm Bill program records in conservation. Records for NRCS, the USDA's private lands conservation agency, show the most-ever conservation contracts at 2,350; most-ever funding for practices at $77 million; more than $150 million contributed by all parties.
