At 1,013 feet, 6 inches long, the Paul R. Tregurtha is the largest boat on the Great Lakes. She comes to Duluth about once a week and almost always loads coal, usually for Detroit Edison power plants. She was built as the William J. Delancey in 1981 in Lorain, Ohio. She received her new name in the spring of 1990. Paul Tregurtha was born in 1935 and is an officer of the Interlake Steamship Company, the owner of the ship

Thank you so much for this post!!
Love to see, and hear the Tregurtha!!
I'm from Hamilton, and sadly we cannot get her here, she's too big to fit through the Welland Canal.....Beautiful park/harbor entrance you have there, way better than ours
Again, thank you!!

If you think it is loud on the shore when they sound the horn you should be on the deck below the horn. I never could get used to it.

I know! I have seen this vessel in person and we couldn't race it either!

Lol When my Dad and I saw this ship go through he thought he could race it by walking. He didn't know how fast it could go.
