Wings
Although you've spoken many times before,
A sight of birth he leaves you by a door.
And now you know he doesn't understand.
And all you need is the warmth of his hand.
And if he'd smile your loving blood would dance,
One silent kiss leaves you in a trance.
And now you know you cannot live alone,
But you will find your future is unknown.
One day the questions rise.
On wings of chance you fly.
And on that day your laughs and tears will die,
And fall as free as seabirds climb the skies.
And you will love when love comes your way.
And when it comes there's nothing more to say.
And now you know he doesn't understand,
And now you know you don't need his hand.
One day the questions die,
On wings of chance you fly.

  • Wonderful. This sort of stuff is what YouTube is for.

  • Awesome performance!! The sound isn't bad for a live recording in 1967. Tim Buckley is at the top of my list of musicians I would have wanted to see perform in the 60's.

  • well,well,we have a god here

  • Fabulous tune, fabulous lyrics and a fabulous voice.Best tribute ever was also in 1967. By the Common Market with full orchestral backing. Actually it was the Liverpool Five incognito and really worth a listen. It's recently turned up on You Tube. RIP Tim.

  • Great performance from the master.

  • He was amazing!! he gave us all this........ and Jeff too!! wow

  • One of his best songs, I think. Perfect for his brilliant soaring voice.

    He was a friend.

    He left us too soon.

  • You'd never believe your ears if you saw the actual room at Izzy's. Tim's earliest recordings were really good vinyl. He recorded at Apostolic also which was the best studio of it's time--the first audio 12 track in the world. That may seem funny now when you have 64 tracks in your wallet, but check out Zappa's Hot Rats album.

  • Great !

  • aDORO!!!!

  • love this cat long as i live
