Haha this isn't even a tack... If it were a tack, his board would pass through the wind (in other words, his bow would turn towards the camera instead of facing away of it)...

Same technique for crossing the board, but not a tack. In a tack, the nose of the board passes through the wind. In a gybe, the nose does not.
The better comparison would be the the back half of an upwind 360.

Practice it another 1,000 times and you'll get it. And if you don't, just keep sailing and enjoy the sport.
