What matters the most for me is the sounds. From your videos, I guess that they are better ont the Casio WK 3800 than on the Yamaha E423. I like the grand piano, the sax and the choir on the Yamaha, but that's about it. I need good keyboard sounds (piano, electrical piano, organ, harpsichord), good strings and good choir sounds. Which one do you think is better in this matter ? Also, the Yamaha has got real-time controls, but on the Casio you can tweak the sounds.

Hello, I had an old Yamaha PSR E313 - correct sounds for the price, but pretty useless because you can't save your resgistrations, etc. So I resold it and I am planning to buy a new keyboard. Since I am on a tight budget, I am considering either the Yamaha PSR E423 (300 euros new) or the Casio CTK (200 euros new). What do you think ? I tried the E423 and find the key action was toyish and the amplification useless (2x2,5 W). Which has the better sounds ? I hate strings and organ on the Yamaha.

@LedgerLines I actually bought the Juno G first (the original one) but when I received it, it wouldn't even switch on. I sent it back and got another one, this time it turned on, but because it had crackly pots, a screen that looked like it would burn out at any minute, a problem with the pitch lever that meant the keyboard was a semitone flat every time you switched it on, I sent it back. My M50 was only £600 from eBay, and its a Ltd. edition one. Works perfectly.

lol u put alotta work into this man
What I really fancy is note with piano weight, because those are sweet to touch. Did I use the right terminology here?

@UnitedPebbles Well, the correct term is 'weighted keys'. In that case, a really nice keyboard is the Yamaha DGX-640. It's got the full 7 octaves that a full size piano has got, and fully weighted hammer action keys. Oh and the piano sound is great - I played one a few weeks ago. It's a step up from the casio, a much better machine.

The keybed of tha Casio has got 76 keys, so this is better than the Yamaha E423. As I said I had the opportunity to try the Yamaha and I didn't like the key action. Is it good on the Casio WK 3800 ? I got the feeling thaht this Casio is an older model, but that when it came out it was a semi-proffessional keyboard, whereas the Yamaha is more of a sophisticated toy. What do you think ?
Thanks for your advice, I will get mad if I don't buy a new keyboard soon ;-)

@albanbach The casio's key action is ok I guess, it's makes loud 'clack' sounds when you play vigorously. Soundwise, it has nice organs, acoustic guitars, saxophone is passable, piano could be better, the yamaha definitely has better pianos and EPs. synth sounds are pretty weak on these entry level keyboards. Take a look at the Korg X50, the Yamaha EX5, the Roland Juno Di, and the Alesis QS6.2. If you need built in speakers, I can highly recommend the Yamaha PSR S550
