@repsollenny let me answer you as a former member of the Colombian military.
this kind of things get atention.. yeah, for some are useless, but when you get the atention you also get support.
you get people interested in joining, so they dont have to do wht they did whith me,i was drafted by force and did compulsory military service.
in towns where they never had a parade, there were no allies, therefore ,they become fertile soil for the enemies to stay. parades are a form of combat.
